Susan Halfhide is a Bangalore-based visual artist. Her vibrant botanical paintings are rooted in a fascination with the extraordinary complexity of the natural world, from the delicate veins of a petal to the pattern of a butterfly wing.

Her practice is driven by a desire to make people pause and notice. She is equally drawn to the wonder of a living flower and the quiet melancholy of an abandoned cobweb. Beauty, mortality and transience run through her work, often appearing together in unexpected ways.

When she's not painting, Susan can usually be found at the gym, fostering rescue pups or finding some other excuse to be in the Himalayas.
